Adapted from a short story by the American author Ambrose Bierce, "Maryann" is a short film of impossible love set in the 19th century.

The story depicts the drama of
Dr. Paul Dessard and his assistant
Maryann in a period of strict moral values.

As Dr. Dessard and his family prepare to move to another town, Maryann attempts to summon the courage to tell Paul how much she loves him.
